water level monitoring Ultrasonic Ranging Module HC-SR04

 Hi there
Has any one at Itead got any plans on using Ultrasonic Ranging Module HC-SR04 with there smart home range as would be really usefull for many aplications such as

flood defence and warnings (basment pumps)
well water level indication
oil fuel level indication
septic tank level indication
hydroponic and irrigation (watering garden and plants)

im shore there would be others all of which would be great to monitor from andriod phones
maybe it would only need a slight modification to the themostat part of the app

Hello I have the same issue.
I found a distance sensor HC-SR04 that could be used. maybe replacing tempeture sensor.

Has anyone ever done something on this topic??

what about Waterproof Ultrasonic Module JSN-SR04T  (Sensor for Arduino)

I think it is very easy to convert a temp and humibility sensor th10 to a water level sensor it needs only a sensor change and then a software that indicates the level instead of temp and it is something very important for many people and the prices of same things are very high .Please someone from itead help us

I agree that it should be relatively easy. Therefore ITEAD, please HELP.

Hi, I have the very same problem. I'd like to connect any distance sensor (or other device able to monitor water level) in place of the thermometer. I would also accept to interpret the distance in degrees, mimicking a thermometer, if that should work!

I've been looking for a device  to allow me to monitor water tank levels from openhab2 but looks like there is nothing available that will work out of the box.

Agreed - It's a shame Itead don't produce an ultrasonic sensor to plug in to  the TH10 / TH16 (think it would be popular..)

Going to try to modify a TH16 for this purpose when I get some time - will post any results here!

I have the same demand .... so if anybody has a result, I would appreciate it too.
